The Hum
The Hum is a name often given to widespread reports of a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming, rumbling, or droning noise not audible to all people. Hums have been reported all over the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.[1][2] They are sometimes named according to the locality where the problem has been particularly publicized, such as the "Taos Hum" in New Mexico and the "Windsor Hum" in Ontario.
The Hum does not appear to be a single phenomenon. Different causes have been attributed, including local mechanical sources, often from industrial plants, as well as manifestations of tinnitus or other biological auditory effects.

Finnegans Wake is a work of avant-garde comic fiction by Irish writer James Joyce.
It is significant for its experimental style and reputation as one of
the most difficult works of fiction in the English language.[1][2] Written in Paris over a period of seventeen years and published in 1939, two years before the author’s death, Finnegans Wake was Joyce’s final work. The entire book is written in a largely idiosyncratic language, which blends standard English lexical items and neologisticmultilingual puns and portmanteau words to unique effect. Many critics believe the technique was Joyce’s attempt to recreate the experience of sleep and dreams.[3] Owing to the work’s expansive linguistic experiments, stream of consciousness writing style, literary allusions, free dream associations, and abandonment of narrative conventions, Finnegans Wake remains largely unread by the general public.[4][5]
Despite the obstacles, readers and commentators have reached a broad
consensus about the book’s central cast of characters and, to a lesser
degree, its plot, but key details remain elusive.[6][7] The
book discusses, in an unorthodox fashion, the Earwicker family,
comprising the father HCE, the mother ALP, and their three children Shem
the Penman, Shaun the Postman, and Issy. Following an unspecified
rumour about HCE, the book, in a nonlinear dream narrative,[8] follows
his wife’s attempts to exonerate him with a letter, his sons’ struggle
to replace him, Shaun’s rise to prominence, and a final monologue by ALP
at the break of dawn. The opening line of the book is a sentence
fragment which continues from the book’s unfinished closing line, making the work a never-ending cycle.[9]Many noted Joycean scholars such as Samuel Beckett[10] and Donald Phillip Verene[11] link this cyclical structure to Giambattista Vico‘s seminal text La Scienza Nuova (“The New Science”), upon which they argue Finnegans Wake is structured.
Joyce began working on Finnegans Wake shortly after the 1922 publication of Ulysses.

The Face of War
The Face of War
The FaceBook War in Milwaukee with Norberg and Kunish in year 2009
The Face of War (The Visage of War; in Spanish La Cara de la Guerra) (1940) is a painting by the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí. It was painted during a brief period when the artist lived in California.
The trauma and the view of war had often served as inspiration for Dalí's work. He sometimes believed his artistic vision to be premonitions of war. This work was painted between the end of the Spanish Civil War and the beginning of the Second World War.
The painting depicts a disembodied face hovering against a barren desert landscape. The face is withered like that of a corpse and wears an expression of misery. In its mouth and eye sockets, there are identical faces. In their mouths and eyes, there are more identical faces in a process implied to be infinite. Swarming around the large face are biting serpents. In the lower right corner is a handprint that Dalí insisted was left by his own hand.

Wardenclyffe Tower - Wikipedia
His decision to scale up the facility and implement his ideas of wireless power transmission to better compete with Guglielmo Marconi's radio-based telegraph system was met with refusal to fund the changes by the project's primary backer, financier J. P. Morgan. Additional investment could not be found, and the project was abandoned in 1906, never to become operational.
In an attempt to satisfy Tesla's debts, the tower was demolished for scrap in 1917 and the property taken in foreclosure in 1922. For 50 years, Wardenclyffe was a processing facility producing photography supplies.

The Two Cultures – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Two_Cultures
Wikipedia
The Two Cultures is the title of the first part of an influential 1959
Rede Lecture by British scientist and novelist C. P. Snow. Its thesis
was that “the intellectual life of the whole of western society” was
split into the titular two cultures — namely the sciences and the humanities — and that this was a major hindrance to solving the world’s problems. …
Snow’s position can be summed up by an often-repeated part of the essay:
A good many times I have been present at gatherings of people who, by
the standards of the traditional culture, are thought highly educated
and who have with considerable gusto been expressing their incredulity
at the illiteracy of scientists. Once or twice I have been provoked and
have asked the company how many of them could describe the Second Law of Thermodynamics. The response was cold: it was also negative. Yet I was asking something which is the scientific equivalent of: Have you read a work of Shakespeare’s?[5]
I now believe that if I had asked an even simpler question — such as, What do you mean by mass, or acceleration, which is the scientific equivalent of saying, Can you read? —
not more than one in ten of the highly educated would have felt that I
was speaking the same language. So the great edifice of modern physics goes up, and the majority of the cleverest people in the western world have about as much insight into it as their neolithic ancestors would have had.[5]
